Indoor tanning offers a controlled environment for obtaining a golden bronze tan and maintaining your tan year-round. Whether you have an upcoming special event, vacation or just want to feel your best, The Tannery is the place for you! How quickly you obtain a base tan depends on your skin type, frequency of sessions, and the intensity of the bed. Immediate results are possible, but it may take 4-6 sessions to fully develop a base tan.
VITAMIN D BENEFITS:
Strengthens immune system, muscles, and respiratory system.
Produces serotonin (the ‘happy hormone’) for enhanced mood and sleep.
Helps prevent diseases and improves brain function.
TAN PREP:
Shower, shave, and exfoliate; remove makeup and other lotions/fragrances.
Always wear protective eye goggles (provided at no charge); wear SPF-rated lip balm.
Position yourself in the bed to allow as much skin as possible to be exposed to the lights. We recommend rotating between a session on your back (knees slightly bent to avoid lines where your thighs meet your rear; don’t let your arms touch your sides; don’t rest your hand on your stomach. Lie with your arms raised above your head to avoid white underarms.) and then a session on your stomach (raise your arms above your head).
Use a lotion formulated specifically for use in tanning beds to avoid drying out your skin.
POST TAN:
Allow 24 hours between sessions to maximize color development.
Moisturize your skin.
Drink plenty of water.
SKIN TYPES: to help you tan moderately and minimize your risk of getting burned, it is important to identify your skin type. The amount of UV required to achieve a tan is different for each person so the exposure schedule should be customized and designed to allow each client to gradually build a tan.
Type I: Very fair and struggle to tan without burning. Type II: Achieve a tan but it develops slowly and usually after a sunburn.
Type III: Tend to get sunburned when overexposed but can quite easily tan. Type IV: Readily achieve a tan and will rarely burn under the sun.
Type V: Tend to have naturally tan skin tones and tan with ease while seldom burning. Type VI: Almost never burn and skin can darken when exposed to intense UV rays.
